SCRANTON, PA | October 18, 2023 –
The Jewish Community of Northeastern Pennsylvania condemns the Illinois murder of 6-year-old Palestinian American Wadea Al-Fayoume because of his religion.
Hatred and the violence it spawns should have no place in our society. The killing of a child is an affront to our religious and human values and the core of our social compact, enshrined in our Constitution and laws.
We mourn with his family, and we appeal to the better nature of our fellow Americans to remain vigilant and prevent other families from suffering this kind of loss.
