Federation’s I&O Impact – December 2025

The overseas contributions from our NEPA Community Campaign contribute to these projects:

Last month, more than 2,000 Jewish leaders gathered in Washington, DC for the General Assembly, an extraordinary moment of unity and purpose, with a strong focus on the Federation system’s Israel and Overseas work. Together, we honored the brave and the fallen, celebrated our collective strength, and reflected on the road ahead for Israel’s recovery and future. Whether you joined us in person or are catching up now, we invite you to revisit the powerful conversations and meaningful moments that shaped this year’s GA.

As we close out our historic Israel Emergency Response Campaign and officially launch Rebuild Israel, we do so with deep gratitude and with clear recognition that our work is far from over. See our final allocation update here and stay tuned for continued updates on Federation’s ongoing and deep impact across the length and breadth of Israel.

Just two weeks ago, we reached another milestone: the Government of Israel approved a plan to bring the remaining Bnei Menashe community from India to Israel, advancing the State’s enduring commitment to uniting Jewish people from around the world. Now, as Chanukkah approaches – a holiday that reminds us that even in the darkest moments, light endures – this progress feels especially poignant. In a year defined by profound challenge, the unwavering unity and compassion of our community shines brightly, illuminating the path toward strength, resilience, and hope.

Shining a Light on Our Emergency Work
This Chanukkah, the Festival of Light, we call out three extraordinary emergency partners whose names all include the Hebrew word or (light) and whose vital work has been powered by Federation support since October 7. The OR Movement brought light to Israel’s northern and southern regions by activating four 24/7 regional operations rooms that trained and coordinated volunteers during the crisis. Or LaMishpachot brought light to bereaved families of fallen soldiers, expanding creative, joyful, and supportive programming for the growing number of families in need. And Orr Shalom, Israel’s largest provider for youngsters in out-of-home care, brought light to vulnerable children and young adults by providing extra support to those living under fire and to affected graduates. Through our communities’ generosity, these organizations continue to deliver hope where it is most needed.

Calling All Leaders!
We invite all Federation professionals to join us at FedPro 2026 on February 9–11 in Downtown Phoenix. Gather with colleagues from across the system for three unforgettable days of learning, connection, and renewal, featuring a robust selection of I&O programming. Israeli Society: Russian Speaking Jews
Israel is home to roughly 1.2 million Russian-speaking Jews, around 15% of the population. As founder and CEO of One Million Lobby, Alex Rif leads campaigns for equal religious and civil status, cultural recognition, and fair immigration policy for this community.
