To the NEPA Community,
Our 11-month-old son, Noam (Michael) has a rare liver disease, Biliary Atresia. Noam already had a surgery when he was 5 weeks old, but the surgery wasn’t successful. Noam needs a liver transplant and he is currently listed in UNOS for a liver transplant. We are looking for a live donor for him (with a liver transplant, only part of the liver from the donor is used)
The donor must be blood type O positive/negative.
A few things to know:
- Since he’s a baby, they prefer people under the age of 30, but obviously, they’ll check anyone who is willing to get tested under the age of 50.
- The recovery time is different between each person; usually, it’s around 5 days at the hospital, 2-3 weeks until feeling “Normal” and they have restrictions for 3 months not to carry more than 1 gallon.
- Everything for the donor is under Noam’s insurance, testing, recovery and follow-up appointments regarding the transplant
If you are interested in filling the Living Donor Health Screening Questionnaire-2-1-16 and getting, tested we would truly appreciate it.
Please help us find a liver for our son!
Thank you,
Nofar and Jason Flesher
Recipient name is Michael Flesher
