On a rainy Wednesday, May 16, 2018, close to thirty people from Scranton and the Poconos headed to New York City to the Museum of Jewish Heritage: a Living Memorial to the Holocaust and the outdoor memorial at the 9/11 museum sponsored by the Jewish Federation of NEPA.
The tour was greeted at the door by museum representatives who led the group to a private area where a pre-ordered lunch (paid by the individuals) was prepared for some as others had lunch at other venues. The 28 members were divided into smaller, more intimate tour groups and headed off to experience this powerful museum which is divided by floor into pre-war Jewish life, the Holocaust, and post- Holocaust.
The rain deterred many from venturing over to the 9/11 outdoor memorial but some did go and spent time there as well.
Thank you to Dassy Ganz and the Jewish Federation for coordinating and sponsoring this important trip to NYC.
