Temple Hesed presents The Cat in the Kippah Purim Shpiel on March 5. Familiar music will carry us through supremely silly Seussian antics —including not only “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” but a variety of great songs with nonsense phrases.

Purim (“lots”, from the word pur, related to Akkadian pūru) commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman, a story recorded in the Biblical Book of Esther (Megillat Esther).
