On Saturday night, October 20, the auditorium of Scranton’s JCC was filled with many friends and supporters of the Jewish Federation of NEPA who attended the Federations 2019 UJA Campaign Opening Event featuring nationally-renown comedian/ventriloquist John Pizzi – one of the hottest rising high-energy comics in the U.S. entertainment industry today.
He has also been a regular headliner at the Riveria Hotel in Las Vegas and the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City as well as at theaters across the country but his claim to fame was his appearance twice on “America’s Got Talent” and ABC’s “What Would You Do”.
Based on his performance at the Scranton JCC for the 2019 UJA Campaigns Opening Event, he proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is truly “a Show Pro.” The audience was enthralled and absolutely entertained by his act. As he demonstrated that night, he has the unique ability to make people laugh, no matter what their age. His unique ability to entertain both young and old will no doubt result in our 2019 UJA Campaign Opening Event being remembered for many months to come. His performance was superb and outrageously funny and he confirmed his reputation as a comedian/ventriloquist who tailors his program to his particular audience which he did that night. It was by no means “a canned performance”. He added humor between hilarious situation comedies, magic, and ventriloquism all of which allowed everyone to have a truly fun experience.
The Jewish Federation thanks the organizers of the event Susie Connors, Rhonda Fallk, Lynn Fragin, Dassy Ganz, Gayle Greenstein, Mary Ann Mistysyn, and Jennifer Novak.
